Meet The Authors and Characters

Tali, a dedicated 14-year-old eighth grader, is a NYU Medical School STEM Scholar and participates in a mini medical program. Passionate about learning, she also serves as the Director of Hospitality for her mother’s real estate firm. In her free time, Tali enjoys reading on the beach, swimming in deep water, and playing golf—a sport in which she was recognized as "Golfer of the Week" by The African American Golfer’s Digest at just three years old. She frequently tours colleges with her parents to prepare for her future goals, and her family adores her amazing cooking.

Aziza Rose, an ambitious 8-year-old third grader, is a budding writer who enhances her reading skills daily and enjoys participating in book clubs. She takes debate lessons to sharpen her argumentation skills and shares her mother’s fascination with real estate. Aspiring to become an attorney and eventually the Honorable Judge Aziza Rose, she is already a student member of the American Bar Association. In her free time, she loves playing with her siblings and cousins and dressing up her dolls. Her family always knows she is destined for greatness.

Zahir, a bright 7-year-old third grader, excels in math and hones his problem-solving skills through engineering and robotics classes. Aspiring to become a construction engineer, he dreams of building structures worldwide and is a proud member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In his free time, he enjoys playing at the park and the beach with his construction trucks and watching home-building videos with his family.
